The food was excellent, certainly reminiscent of southern Italian cooking. We got the carne alla genovese, gnocchi con pesto, and risotto capresante e funghi. All of them were unbelievably flavorful! The gnocchi was quite rich, a bit too much for us, but didn’t detract from the dish at all. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, even with a full house. Highly recommend, thank you!
I recently dined (again) at an PE and as always it exceeded my expectations (again). this is a big statement for a restaurant on one of the biggest and iconic food streets in New Haven. (Wooster). The food, especially the pasta, was amazing--perfectly cooked and bursting with authentic flavors. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and the appetizers were just as delightful. The quality is consistent every time, and the service is top-notch, making each visit enjoyable. The intimate setting adds to the charm, creating a cozy atmosphere ideal for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend for anyone craving great Italian cuisine!
I had a great time at Eataliana. My family came to celebrate my father for Father’s Day and from the moment we arrived, we were taken care of. Mario and Veronica were so helpful with their suggestions on the menu and the food was so fresh and delicious. We had the fritti misti, meatballs, mozzarella di bufala, Eataliana salad and bacala to start. Everything was made to perfection! For dinner we had an assortment of different pastas and a couple orders of Branzino. We were impressed by the plating and the flavors that each dish had. Honestly this place is one of the hidden gems of Little Italy in New Haven. E stato buonissimo!! We’ll be back.
This place is AMAZING. This was the best Gnocchi I have ever had. So soft and tasty. But the pesto? I almost cried it was SO good. It’s a beautiful bright green and so fragrant. If you love pesto you’ll absolutely love this pesto. I wasn’t sure how to feel about the portion, but honestly with how delicious it was I’m more than happy. I couldn’t even finish it! The waitress and waiters were extremely friendly. They were attentive and walked around every so often to check on us. There is a projector playing scenes of a hike, and it really added to the ambiance. My boyfriend had shrimp and scallops (one of the specials) and was just as happy. I don’t eat shrimp but they looked huge. We both had wine and they were so tasty.
New Haven is definitely famous for its pizza, and this spot served the best I’ve ever had. The texture was loose—almost noodley—and the cheese was so smooth, it bordered on creamy. The pepperoni was incredibly rich and pure, almost reminiscent of guanciale. I can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service and delicious Italian cuisine! Very clean inside and very professional. Pricey food and drinks but worth it! The quality of food , drinks and service definitely pays it off. I will definitely go again !
The food here is absolutely delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly even though they were very busy. We ordered the mortadella crostini and short rib ragu appetizers. The bread was so fresh it was to die for. Everything was unbelievably fresh and so tasty. For mains we got the cacio e Pepe which lived up to every expectation, the ny strip with garlic mash and a lovely mushroom cream sauce that was so good you absolutely could not stop eating it. We live over an hour away and will definitely be making the trip back just to eat here. My husband and I were blown away by how good the food was.
Went for a quick walk in with my daughter who wanted pasta. We both loved it! Food was fresh, well flavored, large variety, and overall very good. Staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating. All in all, definitely recommend this place and if we are ever in New Haven again we will stop by!
